Right this is what I am looking for is mobo (C2D either 2 or 4 core) with single PCIe for either 8800GT or GTS, need quite a few PCI slots (three sound cards: Audigy (use sometimes for the inputs), Yamaha SW1000XG and E-MU 1212M (still learning) which has a daughter board for ins and outs). The mobo does not need to be an overclocker and I don't really intend to do this but intend to fill it with memory maybe not at first but later on yes. I would be inclined to get rid of the Audigy in favour of an internal sound card providing it's fully ASIO compliant. I am chewing over installing SCSII as I have few drives and couple of cards to choose from but am undecided. Oh and one more thing I don't want to play and arm, a leg and a first borne.
Please post your recommendations, if I can think of anything else I will make another post in this thread.

If your serious about going scsi then you want something with pcix on it like this:

Although you do pay an arm and a leg for it!

I managed to pick one up second hand for not too much might be worth looking around.

Or something along the lines of the x38 chipset

Plus's being that its pci-e2 and supports up to 1600fsb for yorksfield.

Or if your looking for future proof then you could look at something like this with both ddr3 and ddr2.

Isn't the E-MU 1212M ASIO compliant already?

DDY it cerainly is as is the Audigy but not fully as I understand.
What I meant is if I was to abandon Audigy for onboard sound to free up PCI slots then I would need to know that the onboard sound is ASIO compliant, and from what I know there are no onboard sound cards which are.

I think the Abit iX38 Quad-GT will be out of my budget for now, so the second looks like a good investment. Keep em comming guys. :)
