Hey Guys,

Finally got round to water cooling my stacker, and I'm very pleased with the results....

Tools Used

Image

I only realised after this project that a dremel really is a must have to do any form of modifications came in handy so many times, the first time being 10mins into the work.

I was taking the stock cooler off my sexy X1900XT and one of the screw heads rounded, 1st job for the little dremel, I cut the head off the screw and off came the cooler :)

Before

After Warning! Picture contains Nudity!

Image

The next thing to do was epoxy some ramsinks onto the Graphics card memory, I used Artic Silver Alumina and it worked really well, bonded in around 5minutes.

Image

Image

Once that was done it was time to start chopping up the case. At this time I was so engrossed into the project that I forgot to take photos during the modification, however, this is the end result :)

Image

Here are the components that went into the system.

Image

And a brand new X Fi :)

Image

Leak testing time!

Image

Then when I added dyer and water wetter it decided to leak :(

Heres me tinkering while watching sum big brother shiznit.

While my Girlfriend has an exhilarating time watching me hehe

After

Temps are good, CPU hasnt breached 42 degrees at 2.9ghz 1.5v and GPU hasnt breached 45 @ 680/800

Really pleased with the setup and its oh so quiet, amber series running at 5v are in audible :)

Looks awesome.

You can get some mesh or metal plate to cover that old PSU hole for asthetics.

mate, what rad is that? im looking for a new one as mine SUCKS, well it cools the water but makes the fans loud + the screw thread on the actual rad are non existant so i have to super glue the whole thing in place!

also where you get those fan splitters? need some cus i have 6x120mm Amber fans on my rad, 4x80mm amber fans around my fans and an extra vantec card cooler... and over all it makes my case DAMN loud!

"mate, what rad is that? im looking for a new one as mine SUCKS" Its an XSPC 120.3 Rad, the standard not the X Flow one

"also where you get those fan splitters?" I bought mine from quiet PC for £5.99, each one allows u to run 4 fans from 1 molex connector, 2 at 5 volts and 2 at the full 12v.

"Lol @ your girlfriend, she looks like she's having a good time, not bored at all." I feel kinda bad I did it and not spent time with her, but I tried to make it up afterwards.

I need to do some serious cable tidying as its so messy, probably gonna get a modular PSU also.
