Go wireless headset!

These are very nice, you also need the BTD 300 USB dongle.

Problem with wireless is always lag. I have an MX-700 mouse and keyboard, and sometimes they would cause me trouble in FPS games.

However for work stuff they are fine, actually very nice. Buy a high-end mouse, and make sure the keyboard is a style you like.

I'd stick to to wired, cant be beat on reliability, till i discovered rechargeble mouses, i was going thru tons of duracells, even the rechargeable were a chore, so gone back to old skool optical usb
