Hi all, this is my first ever forum so apologies if I make some noob errors.
Apparently my first was to put this post in the wrong section.... sorry about that.
Ok, the purpose of this post. I cannot for love nor money get my E6600 any higher than 2.5GHz (285MHz x 9.0 Cpu multiplier) on nTune. Trouble is I have no idea where to start. I have had some verbal training from DIY friends. Here's my nTune settings after a 3hour tune:
FSB - 285MHz x 9.0 - CPU core Freq 2,565 QDR - 1,140 DDR2 - 1,140 SPP - 3,000 MCP - 3,200 Vcore - 1.344v Vram - 2.22v Mem timings 2-4-3-13 If you need more info I can try to give it.
My system is as follows: E6600 2.4GHz Inno3D 680i SLI Mobo 2x2GB PC-8500 DDR2 Corsair Dominator + Airflow fan Zalman CNPS9500 CPU fan Coolermaster 850w PSU Single Asus 8800GTX G80 & a Antec P180 Im running windows XP
Basically I have seen many internet claims that on the standard air cooler people are getting 3GHz from the E6600 but all I get at 2.7GHz is either a blue screen or freeze. Apparently my CPU, Mobo & RAM are all upto the job.......... but unfortunately, i am not!!! Again I am a complete noob to this so if anyone can explain bullet point by bullet point how to get more from my processor I would be very very grateful.
If I need to do it in the BIOS, I am willing if someone has again very simple terms to explain ;o)
