Is it one included with the case? Is it a branded case (eg Akasa)? If it is not, then I wouldn't use it. Even if it is I would probably go with something else.

Personally I would buy something
a) from a reputable brand
b) slightly higher power (600W+)

With quad core and 8800, as well as all the other peripherals, you could really do with good quality PSU at or over 600W

My recommendation would be Tagan, but there are a few good brands out there. Enermax, FPS, Tagan, Silverstone, etc Don't like Thermaltak

Also if you are building it yourself I would try and get a better case TBH. Something good quality and easy to build with.

The pc is from Mesh, i dont know what the case is. They only offer one upgrade option on the PSU and that is a jump to 1000w at a cost of £180.

Trouble is, i dont want to buy a pc then have to install a new psu myself. My gut feeling is to invest in the extra power although it sounds a little pricey. Mesh seem to offer a pretty cheap option overall though.

Ask them what brand the original PSU is?
If it's a mesh you are best off just leaving it as is, at least they give you a warranty.
Personally I think the extra cost of a 1000W is a bit steep, up to you really. The 1000W should be good for a long time. 500W I would probabaly replace it when the warrant runs out anyway.

if i were getting a new computer but didn't want to build it myself i'd go for this

http://www.overclock.co.uk/product.php? ... 3&view=rel

yes yes, it's overclock, we are overclock, but it would probably be better.

you can select all the components you want, so good memory (what's the bet that the mesh system has appalling value select memory etc)

so just fill your cart up with what you really want, add the system builder and you get yourself a working computer.

just as an example, on that computer you have listed, it has a creative x-fi extreme gamer, people read "x-fi" and think whoo, but in raelity the extreme gamer edition of the card is pretty crap.
