ok why does my cpu z say my processor is at 1.6ghz, then when i open something it goes up to 2.4 as it should be. what has happenD?

how do i stop it from doing this !

It's underclocking automatically when idling to save power etc - SpeedStep or something i think it's called, in the BIOS.

why stop it??

its giving you lower temps at idle and is useing less power :P its good

yeh but as soon as you overclock you will come into problems, seeing as its adjusting the voltage, and i doubt you'll be using stock voltage :)

with the p5b you need c1e disconnect and speedstep disabled
