my mate whos recently started up a pc outlet, unfortunately brought a large amount of pentium 4 dell pcs which arent worth much, so i offered to take one off him and help him get rid of them at cost, as they are really slim looking looks just like my xbox 360 but in black n wiv da dell logo on the side, anyway i thought i could convert this into a media centre HTPC, so before i list anymore details heres the pics [/img]Image
Image

the specs are 1.8ghz pentium 4
intel mobo
256MB DDR ram
40GBHD
ATI rage pro onboard gfx

i will add DVB-T via USB as it should be adequate n cheap and its only got one PCI slot available, and the AGP port is underneath & covered by the psu which is strange for dell as you can see in the pics they've removed the plastic slot connectors of one PCI slot so why leave the AGP port blocked, thats Dell for you[/img]

i post more details as i get into this project, I'll either leave the win xp on there or change the OS to geexbox OS (linux), and i think i may have to a purchase vga to s-video adaptor and stereo to phono jack to connect it to a standard tv

i've already hit a snag, this particular system i'm working on comes wiv only a CDROM drive thats the slim laptop type ones and cheapest dvd/cdrw combo drive i can seem to is like £43 so unless i resort to burning divx and mp3's files to CDs only or shall i bite the bullet and upgrade to the DVD combo drive pls note the base unit already cost me £90
