Some people like to take it up slightly as theoretically it increases graphics performance. However i've never changed mine and have been told it can cause instability, in the same way as changing the pci bus speed can.

I've heard tales of gfx cards dying with increased PCI-E clock. Generally it's considered safe up to 110 in all cases. I've run mine at 160 for several months before though (P4GPL-X can't overclock FSB well without raised PCI-E clocks), think I even tried 190 once for benching, and yes it does improve yr scores, if only slightly.

Thanks for the welcome, got back from Ireland bout a week ago. After 3 months and £10,000 I can now cook

Hipro5 (who has several world records) swears by raised PCI-E clocks, claims they improve stability. Some motherboards have a sweet spot for PCI-E clocks for high FSB speeds. I usually just run mine at 105 these days, the previous high PCI-E clocks were just for my Dothan rig which benefits greatly.

Although I think high PCI-E clocks is what crippled (only sometimes booted) my old graphics card. Dont risk it tbh.
